Conversation chime

Overview

The conversation chime plays a sound whenever Friday pauses for your input. It frees you from watching the terminal during a long task. The chime is on by default and plays the Glass sound; you can switch sounds or turn it off in settings.

Quick start

Open Friday's settings:

/settings

Select Chime and pick Off, Glass, Ping, or Funk.

When it sounds

Friday plays the chime each time it stops and waits for you:

• It asks a clarifying question about your request.
• It needs approval in 2x or 5x mode.
• It requests confirmation for a critical operation.
• It finishes a task and is ready for your next message.

Persistence

Your choice persists across sessions until you change it again.
