Conversation chime
Overview
The conversation chime feature plays an audio notification when Friday needs your input. This helps you stay aware of when Friday is waiting for your response, especially during long-running tasks or when you're multitasking. The chime is disabled by default and can be enabled through the settings menu.
Quick Start
Enable the conversation chime through Friday's interactive settings:
/settings
Then select one of three chime options: Glass, Ping, or Funk. Once enabled, you'll hear a chime whenever Friday is waiting for your input, making it easier to stay engaged with the conversation without having to constantly monitor the terminal.
Usage
Enabling the Chime
The conversation chime is configured through Friday's settings menu. When you enable it, Friday will play a sound notification whenever it pauses to wait for your input. This includes situations like:
- Asking clarifying questions about your request
- Waiting for approval in 2x or 5x mode
- Requesting confirmation for critical operations
- When Friday is done processing and ready for your next input
Persistent Configuration
Your chime preference is saved across sessions. Once you enable or disable the chime through the settings menu, Friday will remember your choice for all future sessions until you change it again.
